Hello and welcome to Battered Cakes.

My name is Clare, and I am the owner of Battered Cakes. I have been interested in cake decorating for a long time, but as a mother of 2 small children and working part time as a nurse time was hard to find. Once I started taking lessons I found a strong passion for creating my own masterpieces, and giving them as gifts to people. Seeing people's faces light up when you give them a cake that you have created with your own hands is priceless.

With the new found passion, I found it increasingly hard to get to cake decorating shops to buy my supplies.  Taking 2 children into a shop is hard enough but try doing that in a cake shop!!!  I still wanted good quality products at a reasonable price, but without the hassle of leaving home. and so Battered cakes was formed.
